Violence against women is not merely a domestic issue, but a matter that directly concerns the business world across all its sectors as well.
The healthcare sector, in particular, holds a critical importance for identifying risks of domestic violence, treating those who have been subjected to violence, and ensuring coordination with relevant institutions. However, healthcare professionals, who are on the front lines of this societal struggle and support, are also subjected to domestic violence.
To highlight the healthcare sector's role in combating domestic violence against women and to contribute to the development of data-driven policies in this field, the "Research Report on Domestic Violence in the Healthcare Sector," prepared within the scope of our Business Against Domestic Violence (BADV) project, presents striking data regarding the violence healthcare professionals are subjected to and their need for support; it also offers critical recommendations for the business world.
This research report, prepared by the Sabancı University Corporate Governance Forum with the technical support of the United Nations Population Fund (UNFPA) Türkiye and in collaboration with Ipsos Research Company, comprehensively reveals the awareness, approaches, and needs of healthcare service providers regarding domestic violence and gender equality, as well as their perceptions, experiences, and needs concerning employer and workplace protection, prevention, and support mechanisms.
