In Türkiye, 1 in every 4 women is still married off before the age of 18. To strengthen efforts to combat child marriage, we are joining forces with civil society organizations.

Together with the Sabancı Vakfı, UNFPA Türkiye is launching a new grant program under the 4th phase of our “Combating Child Marriages” project, which has been ongoing since 2018. The program aims to support civil society organizations currently working — or planning to work — in this field.

With up to 6 million TRY in grant support, capacity-building trainings, and collaborative initiatives, we aim to expand the implementation of the Health Mediators Model — which we have successfully implemented with the support of families, community leaders, local businesses, and civil society — while also strengthening the capacity of municipalities and CSOs to tackle child marriage.
