Fighting Against Child Marriages: Van

We are in the field against child marriages in Van too! We make door-to-door visits and explain the harmful effects of this practice with health mediators, some of whom are only 19 like Helin and some were married off at a childhood age and now work to end child marriages so that others do not experience what they went through. Hand in hand with tradespeople, neighborhood chiefs, and public officials, we reach out to girls and parents to end this harmful practice.

Fighting Against Child Marriages: Nevşehir

UNFPA Turkey continues to work for the prevention of child marriage across the country. In this scope, we reach out to girls who are at risk of being married at a young age, young women who got married at a childhood age, and young men and fathers through household visits with our health mediators who are selected local people including women who also got married at a child age. We explain the health risks and negative consequences of child marriages.

COVID-19 Projesi

UNFPA Türkiye tarafından BM Çok Ortaklı Güven Fonu tarafından finanse edilen COVID-19 Projesi ile bugüne kadar 15 binden fazla kişiye ulaştık. 

Proje kapsamında faaliyet gösteren mobil sağlık hizmet birimleri en kırılgan grupların tarama, tedavi, aşı ve diğer hizmetlere erişimini artırmak için çalışıyor. Kadın ve üreme sağlığı, yenidoğan sağlığı gibi konularda özelleşmiş COVID-19 ihtiyaçlarının karşılanması için risk iletişimi ve bilinçlendirme faaliyetleri yürütülüyor. 

Mobil hizmet birimleri tarafından farkındalık çalışmaları kapsamında dağıtılan COVID-19'dan korunma, hijyen, doğum, emzirme, doğum öncesi bakım,  doğum sonrası bakım ve yenidoğan bakımı, gebelikte beslenme ve yenidoğan beslenmesi, kadına yönelik şiddet, cinsel yolla bulaşan enfeksiyonlar ve gebelik önleyici yöntemler konulu broşürler ile halk sağlığı çok yönlü olarak destekleniyor.

Tüm bu hizmetlerle, projede COVID-19’la mücadelede de kimsenin geride bırakılmaması amaçlanıyor.

COVID-19 Project

Implemented by UNFPA Turkey with the financial support of the UN Multi-Partner Trust Fund, COVID-19 Project has reached over 15,000 people so far.

In the scope of the project, mobile health service units support vulnerable groups in terms of providing COVID-19 prevention and response services including vaccination. Furthermore, risk communication and awareness-raising services for sexual and reproductive health, prevention of GBV and fulfilment of specialized COVID-19 needs have also been provided. 

To support community health in this respect, mobile service units distribute informative brochures regarding COVID-19 protection, hygiene, birth, breastfeeding, prenatal, postnatal and newborn care, nutrition during pregnancy, infant feeding, violence against women, and sexually transmitted infections and contraceptive methods. 

The ultimate aim of the project is, thereby, to leave no one behind in the struggle against COVID-19.

- Çocuk yaşta evlilikler kız çocuklarına yönelik en zararlı uygulamalardan ve Türkiye bu uygulamanın yaygın olduğu ülkelerden.
- Türkiye’de şu anda 20-49 yaş arasında olan her 5 kadından 1’i 18 yaşından önce evlendi.
- Erken yaşta evlilikler, kız çocuklarını yalnızca eğitimden ve istihdamdan koparmıyor, hayati sağlık sorunlarına da sebep oluyor.
