From Friends of UNFPA Turkey to women victims of violence: "You are not alone"
While the fight against coronavirus pandemic goes on, Turkish actors and singers also continue providing their support. Ceyda Düvenci, Bülent Şakrak, Beyza Şekerci, Engin Hepileri and many other friends of UNFPA Turkey featured a video footage in which "You are not alone" message has been given to women living under the risk of domestic violence.
Friends of UNFPA remind the importance of staying at home during the coronavirus lockdown, yet warns about the elevated risk of domestic violence towards some women and children. Home may not be the safest place for every woman and child were among the underlined messages in this recently published video. According to official figures covered in the footage, 1 in 4 women who lost their lives as a result of domestic violence are murdered at home. It is also emphasized that women under risk can ask for help 7/24 through both mobile phones and hotlines.
Ceyda Düvenci, Bülent Şakrak, Beyza Şekerci, Engin Hepileri, Alican Yücesoy, Didem Balçın, Derya Şensoy, Rojda Demirer and Asuman Dabak shooted videos via their mobile phones at their homes and highlighted that no one will be left behind in this struggle, and "you are not alone" message is repeated.
