About Amber
AMBER is an application developed by the United Nations Population Fund (UNFPA). It looks like a regular menstrual calendar but has also been developed to raise awareness about violence against women thanks to its special second screen as well as to inform women about what to do in case of violence and the organizations that provide services in this regard.
With AMBER, users can track location, send emergency messages, and call emergency hotlines developed by service providers in cases where they do not feel safe. They can define the forms of violence against women, make risk assessment and safety plan, keep a violence diary, access information they need, learn the organizations and their addresses they can get support from, and find answers to their questions. Health and social workers can access the information and documents they need while providing services to women who have been exposed to violence through AMBER. In addition to all these, AMBER contains information about reproductive health that will help women follow their menstrual and ovulation cycles and plan pregnancies.
