Bulut Öncü Youth Center officially opened in İzmir!

13 December 2017, İzmir -  United Nations Population Fund’s (UNFPA) Turkey office opened a new youth centre in İzmir which is funded by the Japanese Government and will be run by UNFPA Turkey’s implementing partner Community Volunteers Foundation (TOG) with the support of Y-Peer Turkey. 

United Nations Population Fund (UNFPA) Representative for Turkey Karl Kulessa, Community Volunteers Foundation (TOG) Co-chair Suzan Beyazıt and representatives of many NGOs attended the opening ceremony in İzmir. Among the guests, Bulut Öncü’s mother Betül Öncü was also present and made a short speech during the opening ceremony. Activist Bulut Öncü lost his life in a traffic accident in February 2017. To commemorate his accomplishments and to keep his memory alive, the centre in İzmir is named after him.

Bulut Öncü Youth Centre will provide the following services:

- Youth-friendly health information, consultancy, and referral services

- Psycho-social support services,

- Self-improvement workshops,

- Vocational, cultural, artistic and physical activities tailored according to the youth beneficiaries’ needs.
