ANKARA, TÜRKİYE - The service provision on sexual and reproductive health (SRH) and prevention of and response to gender-based violence (GBV) provided by the United Nations Population Fund (UNFPA) for key refugee groups since 2018 will continue to be provided in 2024 in Ankara and Eskisehir, through the support of the U.S. Government, and in Istanbul, Izmir, and Mersin, through the support of the European Union and the U.S. Government.

Key refugee groups face multiple protection and health risks; facilitating their access to rights and services has been one of the primary objectives of UNFPA, in line with internationally agreed upon principles and agreements and national laws; and “Leaving No one Behind” principle of the Sustainable Development Goals.

As of June 2024, within the KRG Project implemented by UNFPA Türkiye, GBV case management, information, legal counseling, psychosocial support, referral, and cash assistance services provided in Istanbul, Izmir, and Mersin service units are supported by the EU Humanitarian Aid; and the sexual and reproductive health counseling services in these units are supported by the U.S. Government. All the services provided in Ankara and Eskisehir service units are provided through the financial support of the U.S. Government.
