UNFPA, UNITED NATIONS POPULATION FUND IN ANKARA SEEKS 2 CANDIDATES FOR THE POSITION OF REGIONAL FIELD COORDINATOR, WFC TO BE BASED IN ANKARA UNDER FIXED-TERM APPOINTMENT.

Job Summary:

The Regional Field Coordinator, WFC assists in the analysis and the assessment of relevant political, social and economic trends, guiding and facilitating the delivery of UNFPA’s Women Friendly Cities (WFC) programme. You will report to the UNFPA Programme Analyst, WFC.

 

Working within a large and complex Country Office (CO) environment, you will support the effective management of UNFPA WFC activities in the areas of population and development, reproductive health and gender. Through the support of substantive analysis and assessment of political, social and economic trends, you will be responsible for the contribution to the designated regional components of the WFC programme via supporting timely and high quality delivery of outputs according to the Work Plans and UNFPAs programme procedures.

 

You will assist in monitoring results achieved during implementation, guiding the appropriate application of systems and procedures, and developing enhancements as required.

Qualifications and Experience:

Education: 

  • Advanced degree in gender studies, health, population, demography and/or other related social science discipline.

 

Knowledge and Experience:

  • Up to two years professional experience in the field of development and population activities, with experience in programme/project management.
  • Practical experience in design, monitoring and evaluation of development projects.
  • Experience using office software packages and web-based management systems.
  • Working experience in humanitarian programmes is an asset.
  • Knowledge of reproductive health and/or gender and/or protection is an asset.
  • Working experience with implementing partners and NGOs is an asset.
  • Working experience with an international organization is an asset.
  • Familiarity with UN procedures and working methods is an asset.

 

 

 

Languages:

  • Fluency in both written and spoken English and Turkish is required.
